You want a Relationship, but You don’t trust Men anymore

The first thing to ask yourself is: Why don’t you trust your own masculine energy first?

When did you betray yourself so deeply that your relationships began to reflect that exact betrayal?

Every person carries two core energies within them: the feminine and the masculine. Being a woman doesn't mean you lack masculine energy. In fact, your inner feminine is where intuition, inspiration, and creative ideas flow, while your inner masculine is the part of you that takes action and holds structure. Whenever you promised yourself that you would act in a certain way, but lied and didn't follow through, you betrayed your own masculine energy.

How the Cycle Begins?

Think back to a moment in your life when you were in a relationship. It often starts with a single promise you make to yourself- a promise that, over time, gets broken again and again under various excuses. Before you realize it, you begin to project the blame onto your partner, slowly convincing yourself that you can't fulfill your own words because of them.

Yet, true trust in a partner always begins with the trust you build within yourself. Real self-trust simply comes down to two key practices:

  • Facing your inner truth: being honest with yourself when you make excuses or blame others, and taking responsibility for your actions

  • Consistency: keeping your word to yourself, no matter how small the promise is.

When you abandon these two habits, the trust in your own masculine energy starts to fade.

What does self-Betrayal actually look like in Daily Life?

For instance, one day you might decide: "Starting today, I’m going to go out and meet more people because I need more connection."

You follow through once, twice, three times. Then you meet a man, enter a relationship, and discover he prefers staying home. Instead of keeping your word to yourself, you stop going out too, choosing to stay in together—because right now, it feels more fun and you are no longer lonely. For a new couple, this transition feels easy and natural at first.

But as time goes on, a subtle disappointment sets in. You start feeling disappointed in him for not wanting to go out. Maybe you try to change his habits, but it doesn’t work, so without realizing it, you compromise and give up on your plans altogether.

It’s easy to believe that he is the source of your frustration, but that disappointment runs much deeper. It lingers because you made a commitment to yourself, and instead of honoring it, you traded your own needs for the comfort of the relationship.

He didn't break your promise - you did. By ignoring what you needed, you betrayed yourself, and that feeling stays with you.

It’s so easy to fall into this trap in a relationship. You start with a clear promise to yourself- like wanting to eat healthy or go out more - and then the excuses show up:"If he doesn't eat healthy, I can't either, so we fail to lose weight" or "If she doesn't want to go out, I'll just stay inside too, even though I really want to leave" .

This is simply how you slowly lose trust, not just in each other, but in yourself.

Reclaiming Your Inner Trust

If you are reading this article, it's likely because you truly want a relationship - yet you feel hesitant, fearful of conflict, or feel like nothing is clicking for you.

The core issue isn't that you lack trust in men. It is that you don't fully trust yourself, your magnetism, or your commitment to honoring your own promises. The fear holding you back is the fear that you will betray yourself all over again.

Questions to Journal & Reflect On

To break this pattern, reflect on these questions today:

  • When was the first time you betrayed yourself, and why?

  • Which part of yourself are you no longer willing to betray?

  • What is one action you can take starting today to prove to yourself that you are keeping your word?
